The soluble fibres prevent bacteria from taking up dietary sugars, so they cannot turn them into acid and plaque. The vitamin enables beneficial bacteria to feed on proteins instead of sugars, producing healthier by-products (i.e. ones that are less acidic and inflammatory). Potassium bicarbonate neutralises acids in saliva, creating a less destructive environment in the mouth.

In a very small number of individual cases, we have been told that dogs were initially somewhat hesitant to drink water containing TEEF Vitae+.

Dogs have the intelligence of a three- to four-year-old child and, like children, may react with suspicion or scepticism when they notice that their owners have added something to their water.

This behaviour is entirely natural: dogs are very sensitive to changes in their environment and notice when something is different. Some dogs therefore avoid the water at first, even though the product has no taste or smell.

A longstanding customer from Bern, Switzerland, had this problem at first too. She persisted until the dogs gave in and drank the water.

Today they drink the water without any problems. The customer is very satisfied, and her dogs’ dental health is EXCELLENT.

The slight yellow tint is caused by an adjusted concentration of riboflavin (vitamin B2), which is naturally yellow.

This change is completely normal and harmless, because vitamin B2 plays a very important role in supporting the beneficial bacteria in the mouth.

How visible the colour is depends, among other things, on water quality, bowl material and lighting; it does not affect the product’s effectiveness.

No. Because we care for the oral microbiome (rather than “treating the body”), the dosage does not depend on weight or size: 0.1 g per animal per day.

You can certainly try, but we cannot guarantee that it will be equally effective. Animals normally eat once or twice a day (and swallow quite quickly). The key to success is taking the daily dose by drinking, as this allows the ingredients to spread easily throughout the mouth. In this way, the oral microbiome is continuously improved for better oral health.

For best results, we recommend adding it to drinking water. Alternatives (such as a pipette or spray bottle, or mixing TEEF Vitae+ with a little liquid, for example broth, soup or milk) are possible if drinking is hard to manage.

What matters is that the animal drinks all the water containing TEEF and therefore receives the full daily dose. Whether it is mixed into 50 ml, 250 ml, 500 ml or 1 litre makes no difference; what matters is that the full daily amount is consumed.

Yes, it works equally well in a drinking fountain.

Our fine ingredients are not filtered out (except by an activated carbon filter, which filters everything). The important thing is to have enough of the ingredients in the water.

It is not the volume of water that matters, but how often you refill the fountain.

For example, if you refill the fountain with fresh water every two days, we recommend adding 2–3 scoops of TEEF Vitae+ for one animal. If you refill it every third day, add 3–4 scoops.

Simply allow 1–2 scoops per day per animal.

Yes. In many cases, consistent use can gradually loosen existing tartar because the bacterial biofilm (its foundation) is destabilised and plaque is broken down.

Please note: If the animal already has periodontal disease, deep gum pockets or problems with the tooth roots, oral care alone is no longer enough; veterinary treatment is necessary.

TEEF Vitae+ acts mainly locally in the mouth (through the oral microbiome and saliva) and is not metabolised “like a medicine”.

Our prebiotic formula contains no calcium, oxalates or vitamin C compounds and does not affect mineral metabolism. It acts mainly in the mouth and has no effect on urine composition or stone formation.

Bladder stones in dogs usually develop because of an unsuitable diet and/or insufficient fluid intake. They may also be caused by urinary tract infections or impaired liver function.

Some pets with a more sensitive digestive tract may have softer stools because of the soluble fibres in our product.

This is not a harmful reaction; fibre simply makes stools softer and bulkier.

Tip: For sensitive animals, start with half the dose and increase it gradually after a few days. If the symptoms are severe or persist, please stop using the product and consult a veterinarian.
